Travel by plane to South Tyrol

The quickest way to get to South Tyrol is from Bolzano, Innsbruck, Verona and Venice airports. 

South Tyrol airport is located at Bolzano. The closest airports are Innsbruck to the north, Venice and Verona to the south. Flight connections are extensive and allow travellers to travel independently. South Tyrol is less than two hours by car from Verona and Innsbruck.

Additional airports in the area include: Munich, Treviso, Bergamo and Milan. 

South Tyrol’s Bozen Dolomiten regional airport is located on the southern outskirts of the capital city. Direct flights to Bolzano are currently available from Rome, Berlin or Düsseldorf.

The Verona Valerio Catullo Airport is located approx. 150 km from Bolzano/Bozen and is well connected to South Tyrol by both train and transfer buses.

The airport shuttle Aerobus 199 will take you directly to Verona Porta Nuova main station in 15 minutes. From there a train will take you to Bolzano, Bressanone or Fortezza every hour. Timetables and tickets for trains and combined tickets for the airport shuttle can be found here.

From Innsbruck to South Tyrol by bus and train
The F bus line from Innsbruck Airport arrives at Innsbruck main station every 15-30 minutes. The bus leaves from the airport’s main building and the journey to Innsbruck’s main station takes approx. 20 minutes.

Travel from Innsbruck by South Tyrol shuttle bus
The Airport Line departs up to four times daily, seven days a week from Innsbruck Airport to the Pustertal valley in South Tyrol.

Treviso airport is expected to remain closed until 31.03.2021.  

The Marco Polo Venice Airport is located approx. 270 km from Bolzano/Bozen.

Travel from Venice by South Tyrol shuttle bus
Cortina Express travels from June to September and from December to March up to twice daily, seven days a week from Venice Airport to South Tyrol. The route extends from Venice to Treviso and continues on toward Cortina, to Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal, or to Alta Badia.

From December to Easter, the Airport Line travels from Venice Airport to the Pustertal valley.

The Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport is located 240 km from Bolzano.

From the airport you can reach South Tyrol by train or with the bus provider Flixbus & Itabus, which goes directly from the airport to South Tyrol.

Two airports are located in Milan: Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate. Milan is located 320 km from Bolzano.
