Between 1989 and 1999 there was extensive renovation work thanks to the Autonomous Province of Bozen and new perspectives for the use of the Grand Hotel. The municipality of Dobbiaco, which received part of the house under concession, was keen to build a music hall for Dobbiaco, where music could be presented at a high level and with unique acoustics. This was also of particular concern because the Gustav Mahler Weeks have been taking place in Dobbiaco since 1981. In 1999, for example, an acoustically and aesthetically valuable concert hall was built and dedicated to the great composer Gustav Mahler, who visited Dobbiaco for three years as a summer guest and composed the "Song of the Earth", the "Ninth Symphony" and the unfinished "Tenth".

Since then there has been a rich cultural offer for locals and holiday guests with lectures, concerts, congresses and events by local associations.

This somewhat smaller event hall is characterized above all by its brightness and flair. The 6 mirrors on two walls of the hall make it particularly classy and atmospheric. At the time of the Südbahnhotel around 1880, the Hall of Mirrors was the dining room. Apart from a few small renovations, the room is still in its original state.

The Hall of Mirrors is also very changeable and suitable for various, smaller events.
