Skiworld Ahrntal

Situated in the north-east of our region, this is South Tyrol’s (and Italy’s) northernmost valley system towered over by more than 80 peaks exceeding 3,000 metres (9,843 feet) elevation. The two sunny ski resorts Klausberg and Speikboden on the southern slopes of the Zillertal Alps offer plenty of variety. Speikboden is more intimate and suitable for families. A stop for refreshments at the intermediate station hut beside the valley run is especially recommended. Skiing in the Klausberg resort is more challenging with runs descending from beyond 2,500 metres (8,200 feet) elevation. The high areas are characterised by treeless terrain and expansive, broad runs.
