After all, South Tyrol features numerous exciting and enriching thematic and educational trails. There is something for every taste!
The easy-to-walk Terlan Wine Trail (Terlaner Weinweg) is ideal for all ages and takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. This hike leads past informational boards and signs about the history and cultivation of wine. This themed trail can be enjoyed throughout the year. Guided hikes are even available from April to June and from September to October at 1:30 or 2:30 pm.
St. Christina/Santa Cristina is the starting point of the “Ladin Farm Circuit” (Ladinischer Höferundgang), which provides insight into farm life in the Grödnertal valley. This educational walk leads past mountain farmhouses with stops at various info boards featuring historical photos and information. This themed trail is open year round. Total walking time: 3-4 hours.
The “Milk Mile” (Milchmeile) themed hike in Sexten/Sesto provides information about the production of delicious South Tyrolean cheese. Here, an interactive walking trail illuminates the fascinating world of milk. Guests can enjoy this themed hike throughout the entire year.
Located in Alta Badia, the educational walk entitled “In the footsteps of wild animals” (Auf den Spuren der Wildtiere) leads visitors through forests over easy and level terrain. Along this trail, view various sculptures featuring wild animals such as eagles, owls, or bears with accompanying collectable stamps. This educational walk is open year round and provides valuable information to families with children.
