South Tyrol is home to the venues for numerous World Cup races in various fields. Top athletes from all over the world compete every year at top-class World Cup races in South Tyrol.
Every December, the ski aces compete with speeds of up to 100km/h on the Saslong or the Gran Risa slopes, while in January biathletes compete for the best places in Antholz/Anterselva, freestylers show off their acrobatic skills on skis and snowboards on the Seiser Alm plateau. This year, the world's best cross-country skiers open the Tour de Ski for the first time at the Nordic Arena in Toblach/Dobbiaco.
