40th Gustav Mahler Music Weeks
Between 1908 and 1910 Gustav Mahler, the Austrian composer and conductor spent his summer holidays at the Trenkerhof in the village of Dobbiaco/Toblach, where he wrote his Ninth Sympohny and his Tenth which he never completed. He also wrote his “Song of the Earth” at Dobbiaco in 1908. Each year the Gustav Mahler Music Weeks take place in Dobbiaco and the surrounding villages in memory of the great composer. The programme includes concerts performed by top class musicians, lectures, musical walks as well as new contacts and meetings beyond the frontiers.
